Drs. Jack and Melissa Vallee have co-owned and operated the Animal Clinic at Mission Square for 16 years, but their partnership in life and veterinary medicine extends back to veterinary school.
The Vallees were classmates at Texas A&M’s School of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 1979. Jack practiced in the United States Air Force for 3 years after graduation. Melissa started her career with the USDA as a biologics inspector. They were married in August of 1980 and have practiced the majority of their careers together since 1982. The practice has thrived under the combination of Jack’s surgical skills and Melissa’s interest in internal medicine and cytology. The Vallees credit their current success to a dedicated, caring staff and a great community of committed pet owners!
When not practicing veterinary medicine, they enjoy reading, all things outdoors and time away in the mountains of New Mexico. The Vallees have three wonderful children (and spouses!) and seven, soon to be eight, grandchildren.
Tammy Doan, DVM
Dr. Doan joined the ACMS family in 2007. Dr. Doan sees patients on Thursday afternoons and all day on Fridays. She is also our relief vet when the Vallees are out of town. She is a local Midlander, and spends her time away from the clinic with her family.
Judi was born in California and raised in Phoenix, AZ. Animals have been part of her life as long as she can remember. She started cleaning kennels with her mom at 9 years old. She received her veterinary education by working for animal hospitals and rescue organizations in Arizona and by fostering animals for her local humane society…. all while completing a BAS in Criminal Justice in 2008. Judi joined her husband in Midland in 2016, where she promptly resumed her care for animals and fostering at the Midland Humane Coalition. Judi has two children: a 20-year-old son completing boot camp for the U.S. Army and a 13-year-old daughter who hopes to become a veterinarian. She also has 2 dogs, 4 cats and a kitten she’s fostering!
Espi was born and raised in Midland, Texas. She graduated from Lee High School in 2015. She has a daughter who keeps her on her toes, but she wouldn’t trade her for the world. Espi also has 3 dogs-a Yorkie named Astrid, a Labrador-mix named Pebbles, and a Pit-mix named Dee. During her free time, she loves to relax at home, spend time with her daughter at the park, or go shopping.
Miranda graduated from the Midland College with a degree in veterinary technology in 2011. Later that year started her career at Animal Clinic at Mission Square. She and her husband have four children (aka pets). She loves wound management and rehabilitation and hopes to one day further her education in this field of study.
Mariza is our receptionist. She has been with our clinic since 2011. Although she enjoys business, her animal-loving nature lead her to the veterinary field. She feels that this business is a good place to bridge the gap between a loving place for people, animals, and medicine. She also enjoys learning new things and has a passion for using her skills to help others succeed. She believes there is always a way to uplift others. She is a mother of four beautiful daughters, and let’s not forget her little Yorkie, “Izzabelle”. She loves attending church, listening to music, and traveling.
Crystal LVMT, LVT
Crystal graduated from Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky in 2005. She moved to Knoxville, Tennessee shortly after graduation. Crystal has two dogs, three cats, a hedgehog and several tortoises. She enjoys spending time with her husband and her animals, reading, and spending time outdoors. She has been with The Animal Clinic at Mission Square for two years. Her passion is wound management and emergency medicine.
